This year brings a change in the White House and an opportunity for each person to create change for themselves and the world. President Elect Barack Obama’s slogan is “Change Can Happen” and we’re determined to make this a reality by asking Americans to adopt a healthy, compassionate vegan diet.

Our new handout encourages change by highlighting the benefits of veganism and offering a free Veg Starter Kit and weekly e-mail recipes. If you'll be in attendance at the Inauguration on January 20th, plan to host activities in honor of the occasion, or simply want to conduct outreach in your community, don't miss this opportunity.

FARM’s Gentle Thanksgiving campaign continues to grow each year, demonstrating the increasing popularity of vegan living. This year, we registered 280 events in 43 states plus Washington, DC. The campaign publicizes the plight of turkeys raised for food and encourages compassionate alternatives to cruel turkey dinners.

Gentle Thanksgiving activities included public vegan feasts, cooking demonstrations, food sampling, special restaurant menus, information tables, exhibits, and literature distribution.

Throughout November, caring people around the country distributed more than 18,000 Gentle Thanksgiving handouts offering free Veg Starter Kits and weekly recipe e-mails. Over the past month alone, FARM received approximately 1,000 requests for Veg Starter Kits.
